BRADLEY CARR. VOCALS. GUITAR.

Music entered Bradley Carr’s life when he started playing guitar in the 5th grade. What began as curiosity soon turned into action when Bradley’s friend John Brown encouraged him to take his hobby seriously with the formation of his first band in junior high, The Outlets. The Outlets played often at parties, hops, and gigs inspiring other kids to start up bands of their own including Roanoke’s Southern Culture on the Skids.

From there, Bradley became part of several notable projects, including The Naildrivers, Nice Day for Something, Red Weather, and the Thrillbillyz, each adding a new layer to his musicianship, playing a variety of material including rock and roll, blues, punk, new wave, and improv-jam. Whether through studio work, live performance, or collaboration, these experiences helped refine both Bradley’s playing and his approach to making music.

Bradley’s path crossed with John McBroom’s early in their lives in 1969 when Bradley’s mom picked up his older brother from kindergarten, and John was there. The two became best friends over the years, and eventually started playing music together as children, and on into adulthood now. After joining forces in the 90s as Red Weather, John and Bradley decided to bring the band’s music back to today’s audiences by forming the Freak Rangers in 2024 with former bandmate Timbo Sims, and new engine room, Jay Gladden and Matt Leonard. In the Freak Rangers, Bradley’s musical history and creative voice continues to push the sound of Red Weather into new exciting directions to come.
