TIMBO SIMS. KEYS.
Timbo Sims’ fondness of music began early, listening to his favorites before he could play, and learning to play as soon as life allowed. He began his education as a child through piano lessons, encouraged by his loved ones. By high school, if there was a piano around, Timbo was sharing his music with family and friends every chance he could get. Music filled his every day.
One of Timbo’s early musical adventures began with The Opposition, an experimental improv-jam band formed with John McBroom and Bradley Carr in college. Eventually evolving into Red Weather, by the 90s, Timbo was writing, performing, and recording original psychedelic rock. In the 2020s, Timbo became part of several notable bands and projects, including western swing influenced Leonard Blush and the Camelcals and psychedelic rock flavored Freak Rangers, building a body of work rooted in collaboration and exploration. Each experience added depth, perspective, and a deeper understanding of the craft.
In 2015, Timbo met David Campbell, also known as Chopper through an invitation to sit in with Kerosene Willy at a wedding reception. Hitting it off in friendship from the start, Timbo also enjoyed the fun and creative experience of grooving and jamming as a 4-piece. It wasn’t long until Timbo joined the band officially, and has been playing keys, complimenting the band’s Freestyle Rock and Roll originals and a myriad of classics ever since.
